荒煤同志是我这一代电影人的前辈、领导者。我直呼其名而不是称其为局长、部长,是他让我这么叫的。几乎所有电影人无论辈分大小都那么称呼他,“荒煤同志”。我第一次接触荒煤同志是1963年,当时崔嵬导演拍摄电影《小兵张嘎》,我担任场记工作。从剧本的改编、写作导演分镜头剧本、小演员的选择、影片风格的确立、拍摄、后期制作,崔嵬导演可谓叱咤风云,一路大刀阔斧,创新与突破都在崔嵬掌控之中。我初入影坛,深深地感受到他创作的自信与强势,在他周围很少有人能在艺术上征服他。影片完成对白双片后,它的清新活泼,标新立异征服了
