关于新诗,人们基本的共识是:它没有成熟,还处于发展之中。就诗人而言,既然范式尚未确立,写作就有多种可能。从新诗的发生看,它最初是以和古典诗歌相对立的形式出现的。虽然后来也注意从旧诗中吸收营养,但在写作观念与语言习惯上,更偏向于西方诗歌传统。诗人不再受制于古代传统“禀经”“酌雅”的约束,而将目光专注于日常语言,藉此突出自我意识。更常见的情形则是,诗人在寻求建立新诗的统绪中,往往摇摆于格律与自由之间。
