Hu J et al explored the relationship between dietary trans fatty acids (TFA) intake and various cancers. Using a dietary frequency questionnaire, they surveyed a variety of cancer patients from 8 provinces in Canada from 1994 to 1997, including 1 182 gastric cancers, 1 727 colon cancers, 1 447 rectal cancers, 628 pancreatic cancer and 3 341 lung cancer 2 362 breast cancer cases, 442 ovarian cancer cases, 1 799 prostate cancer cases, 686 testicular cancer cases, 1 345 kidney cancer cases, 1 029 bladder cancer cases, 1 009 brain cancer cases and 1 666 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma cases 1 069 cases of leukemia, and 5 039 normal subjects were investigated at the same time.
