鲁迅在文学成就以外,其对传统文学艺术的研究也颇有成就,集中体现在小说和戏曲领域。鲁迅的戏曲观,乃是在乡土母体文化的背景下滋生,受到五四新文化运动启蒙精神的感召,具有极强的乡土意识和时代革命精神。在鲁迅看来,乡土母体文化滋长的民间民俗戏曲艺术,是值得同情地理解的;兼具传统乡土母体文化基因与时代启蒙精神的改良戏曲,也是值得激赏的;然而与乡土母体文化断裂,与时代启蒙精神无涉的都市雅致京剧,甚至精粹如梅兰芳博士,都是需要加以批判地理解的。
Besides his literary achievement, Lu Xun’s research on traditional literature and art has also made some achievements, which are embodied in the fields of novels and operas. Lu Xun’s concept of opera is born under the background of native mother culture and inspired by the enlightenment spirit of the May Fourth New Culture Movement. It has strong local consciousness and revolutionary spirit in the times. In Lu Xun’s view, the folklore folk opera art that is cultivated by native mother cultures is worth compassionately understood. It is also worthwhile to appreciate the improved opera with both the traditional local maternal and cultural genes and the enlightenment spirit of the times. However, Metropolitan elegant Peking Opera, or even the essence of Dr Mei Lanfang, who had no enlightenment in the era, needs to be critically understood.
