The authors devised a non-aqueous titration method that can determine pure PAS, or sodium salt of PAS or its formulation, using an indicator to determine the endpoint. The advantage of this method is that the endpoint is sharp, consistent with the potential titration curve, fast, accurate and without external indicators. Here’s how: Instrument: 5 ml or 10 ml graduated to 0.01 ml burette, magnetic stirrer, 125 ml suction flask, small Buchner funnel. Reagents: Acetone; Anhydrous methanol; Benzoic acid; Potassium hydroxide; Perchloric acid; Dioxygen; Potassium hydrogen phthalate (all A.C.S. specifications above);
