INTRODUCTION A method for determining the crustal resistivity structure, the Magnetocaloric Current (MT) sounding method (Cagrtiard, 1953; Vozoff, 1972), has been widely used for deep probing. The method uses natural electromagnetic (EM) waves to measure the surface impedance and calculate apparent resistivity as a function of frequency. The MT sounding curve is a frequency-dependent apparent resistivity curve that shows the structure of the shallow geoelectric section when the abscissa is large (high frequency). Sometimes, the sounding curve is plotted against the period of the earth’s electromagnetic field (the reciprocal of the frequency)
