In May 2000, the EU energy-saving lamp manufacturers represented by Philips filed anti-dumping lawsuits against Chinese products. Xiamen has thus become the focus of media attention because the energy-saving lamps of Xiamen Lisheng and Donglin are on the list of appeals. On February 8, 2001, the European Union announced the preliminary results of the energy-saving lamp case. Xiamen Lisheng won a full victory and was punished with a zero dumping tax, while Donglin Company was not spared. Like other hundreds of Chinese manufacturers, It is subject to 74.4% anti-dumping duties. If the final ruling is upheld, the EU market will close the door to Donglin. The EU is Donglin’s main export market, and this result is not a shock for Donglin.
