The development of marine power plants and a variety of independent technical equipment has raised the challenge of raising the level of automation in order to improve the reliability of plant operations and reduce the amount of repairs. This article describes the automation issues related to marine distillation multi-stage adiabatic desalination plants (transient flash). At present, the type of distillation desalination apparatus used on board ships is rather complicated in structure and rarely studied from the viewpoint of mutual influence of various parameters in the process of the plant.
