The loss of p16 gene in homozygous malignant gliomas is as high as 3% to 85%, which undoubtedly plays an important role in the development of gliomas. The p16 gene transfection of glioma cell lines can be significantly inhibited, suggesting that p16 gene will have a bright future in gene therapy of glioma. However, there is controversy as to whether chemotherapeutic drugs are resistant to tumor cells transfected with p16 gene. The p16 gene was used in this study.
