Hydrothermal Calcium Silicate products are used in high temperature applications in a large number of industries. The idea of producing a similar CaO-Al2O3 insulation material dates back 30 years. Calcium aluminate-based CALUTHERM, is such a thermal insulation material, its use temperature up to 1 600 ℃. Due to its high temperature performance and chemical stability, CALUTHERM is widely used in industries such as glass, ceramics, steel and non-ferrous metallurgy. This article describes two specific uses for salt kilns and as a replacement for ceramic fibers.
