氦质谱检漏仪的发展史必须追溯到40年代的初期。检漏仪的历史始于1943年,当时正处于第二次世界大战期中。当时,科学家获知德国正在研制一种新型炸弹。这种炸弹的原理就是基于刚刚发现的铀的同位素的裂变现象。罗斯福总统认为必须抢先达到此目的,于是诞生了“曼哈顿”计划。这个计划的两个目标之一就是研制 U~(235)炸弹(即原子弹)。为此,必须研制超高灵敏的检漏仪。其原因还得从 U~(235)的浓缩谈起。
The history of helium leak detectors must be traced back to the early 1940s. The history of the leak detector began in 1943 when it was in World War II. At that time, scientists learned that Germany is developing a new type of bomb. The principle of this bomb is based on the fission of isotopes of uranium that has just been discovered.
