Medical research institutes in Germany, Italy and Finland have shown that long-haul or frequent flyers are heavily exposed to radiation and have serious health effects and even cancer-causing functions. According to a German study, air service personnel, due to the rather long flight time, have been affected by the radiation they have accumulated and have experienced almost five times the radiation exposure of nuclear power plant staff. A report from Italy, on the other hand, pointed out that pilots are exposed to large amounts of radiation and may cause cancer. Insights from over 1,500 flight attendants by Finnish medical scientists show that women attendants are twice as likely to develop breast cancer as women of the same age. Medical surveys in the United States, Britain and Canada also showed that aviation
