弱智儿童虽然在智能发展上显著地落后于同年龄儿童的水平,但只要组织好他们的学习和锻炼,他们的智力是能得到一定发展的,把他们培养成为有一定文化的自食其力的劳动者,也完全可能的,这里我们谈点肤浅的认识和作法。一、弱智儿童通常是知觉的速度缓慢,反应迟钝,注意力容易分散,个性比较沮丧。根据这一特点,我们认为应采取集体授课和个别引导相结合的教育方法,即教师在认真进行集体授课的同时,要用较多的精力抓个别引导。弱智儿童集体授课一般每天安排3~4节为妥,每堂课一般不宜超过三十分钟,其中集中讲解一般不要超过15分钟。大量的时间要用于了解他们的个性特点,进行个别引导和教育。
