  Smart Sentences

① I appreciate you coming down here, Mrs. Parr.
e.g. We really appreciate all the help you gave us last weekend.
e.g. They deeply appreciated his kindness.

  ② He’s a disruptive influence.
e.g. His teacher described him as a noisy, disruptive influence in class.

  ③ Don't “Bernie”me.
Don't “Pattyme.

④ been sent to the office
Dash被叫到校长室,我们也可以说“Dash was asked to go to the office.”但是使用be sent to则更地道些。例如:Stella was sent to the office for cheating in the exam. Dash:This is the third time this year you've been sent to the office.

⑤ The last thing you need is temptation.
“the last thing you need is…” The last thing Emily needs is to go on a diet. The last thing Justin needs is a cigarette.
