The result of the 2012 U.S. presidential election was released early on November 7 in local time. The current Democratic candidate, Barack Obama, defeated Republican challenger Romney for a second term, and the Democratic Party continues to control more than half of the Senate. The result of this election will not only affect the political and economic policies of the United States, but also have a far-reaching impact on the medical reform. Earlier, many Republicans saw the 2012 presidential election as the last chance to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and Obama’s successful reelection succeeded in lifting the bill from its abolished fate. However, many contradictions in medical reform have not disappeared. Due to the limitations of the bill, the factional conflicts, financial pressure and many other reasons, the implementation of the bill still faces numerous challenges on the road. Many important political struggles will be sculptured Obama’s medical reform in the future.
