厦门位于东海之滨,是一个美丽的“海上花园”,也是一个很有发展前途的经济特区和旅游城市,因此对厦门环境的污染情况及其质量评价已引起人们的日益重视。由于大部分人工放射性同位素能放出β射线,所以通过对海洋环境样品中总β强度的测量就可以了解该海区的本底水平和是否受到放射性污染的情况。因此我们于1981年1—4月间测定了厦门港及九龙江口附近海域的海水和沉积物中总β强度。此外,还对厦门地区盛产的具有较大经济价值的水产品——牡蛎体内的总β强度进行了测定。
Xiamen is located in the East China Sea coast, is a beautiful “Sea Garden” is also a very promising economic zone and tourist city, so the Xiamen environmental pollution and its quality evaluation has drawn increasing attention. Since most artificial radioisotopes emit beta radiation, the background level of the sea area and its radioactivity contamination can be known by measuring the total beta intensity in marine environmental samples. Therefore, in January-April 1981, we measured the total β-intensity in seawater and sediment from the sea near Xiamen Port and the Jiulong River estuary. In addition, the total β-strength in the oyster, which is a large-scale aquatic product with high economic value in Xiamen, was also measured.
