The importance of weldability and joint performance in the development of a new generation of low alloy high strength structural steel is introduced. The performance of welded joints depends on the microstructure of joints. The microstructure of welded joint is generated during the process of welding solidification and subsequent solid phase transformation. The type of tissue is related to many factors, among them, the influence of microalloying elements in weld metal is very large. The effects of microalloying elements such as Ti, V, Ni, Cr, Nb, B and rare earth on microstructure and properties of the weld and heat affected zone of low alloy high strength steel are reviewed. The microalloying Elements and some non-metallic inclusions mechanism and impact of the way, and prospects for the development of the field.
