中央工艺美术学院收藏着不少刺绣艺术品。看到这些刺绣总会引起我们许多美好的联想。作品中洋溢着的艺术造诣和时代气息,芬芳浓烈沁人心脾;芬芳中渗透着甘苦,浓烈中流露出柔和。这里选登的几幅刺绣,都是清代和清代以后的上衣袖口装饰,称做挽袖或引袖。清代服装较重视边饰。大襟周沿、两侧开气都饰以条状纹样,而且宽大凝重。袖口是服装的重要部位。举止行动辄显露人前。所以对引袖的重求尤其严格,注重工细、精致。衣服本身多用有色织物裁制,引袖则常用白色或浅 Central Academy of Arts and Crafts collection of many embroidery works of art.
