进入90年代,旧的世界格局仿佛在一个瞬间崩溃,而新的世界格局仍在迷离模糊之中,与此同时全球的文化格局也发生了巨大的转变.人们对这一巨大变化的震惊与困惑似乎还未过去,就要进入21世纪.90年代以来,我们这个时代变成了一个以消费为主导的,由大众传媒支配的,以实用精神为价值取向的多元化的新时代,结束了原来某些文化权威性的支配地位.在我们的文化中,那种“回返”传统的大趋势已经是一种不可逆转的文化现象,回归是一种稳重朴素的美学,是对世俗化日常生活的兴趣,也是对法则和伦理的肯定和尊重.人们都逐渐变得冷静和成熟起来,开始重新思考自身,如何为自己定位?今天所谓“解构主义”、“后现代主义”、“晚期现代主义”、“新古典主义”等等已不再是我们设计师所关心和讨论的话题,设计师们更关切是未来的中国室内设计将向何处去.
