此器敞口,沿外移,束颈鼓腹,平底下有六足,足底为六角形带镂孔的底座。底有支钉痕,全满釉支钉烧制。釉层光泽,开片密布,釉色粉青。颈饰弦纹两周,腹饰立体三牺牛首加乳钉装饰,更添艺术效果。造型古朴,工艺讲究,比例匀称,造型优美,是一件不可多得的宋瓷珍品。该器后经辽人鎏金装饰,器体的口沿外部及腹部为金色花卉装饰,三牺牛首及乳钉为全包裹,口、足、底分别为素包镶,装饰疏密有致,十分得体。此器物的鎏金包镶花卉特征,既有唐代盛行的遗风,又具有辽代风格,无疑应是契丹民族首领或贵族所为。
