约翰·斯坦贝克的小说创作素以深刻的主题和细致的人物描写著称。斯坦贝克的小说大多与《圣经》的内容相关,但学术界对其作品的研究一直集中在写作手法、作品情节或男性人物的分析方面,对作品中占有重要地位的女性人物及其所承载的主题意义则未予充分重视。本文对斯坦贝克的小说《伊甸之东》、《愤怒的葡萄》和《菊花》中的女性人物描写予以分析探讨,目的是要揭示出斯坦贝克借助创造性的叙事方式及人物表现手法,以女性形象表达博爱精神和人道主题的艺术特征。
John Steinbeck’s novels are characterized by deep themes and meticulous portrayals. Steinbeck’s novels are mostly related to the content of the Bible, but the academic research on his works has always focused on the writing techniques, the plot of the work or the analysis of the male characters, and plays an important role in the study of the female characters and their bearing The theme does not pay enough attention to it.
