Based on the analysis of sporopollen and algae in the first hard clay layer of Heming Kong in the eastern Yangtze River Delta, the climatic fluctuations of the last ice age in the area were studied. The results show that the first hard clay layer in Heming Kong contains abundant species of spores, pollen and algae fossils, and can be divided into three sporo-pollen and algae assemblages, which represent three stages of climatic change in the last ice age in the area, reflecting The last glaciation period in the area was not a continuous dry and cold situation. The early and late climate of the first hard clay deposition was warm and humid. The coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest developed while the mid-stage climate was colder and the vegetation was scarce.
