2014年11月19日,奥巴马邀请了美国100多个学区的负责人,在白宫召开了“连接教育”计划负责人高级会议。会议中,奥巴马表示,联邦政府发起的“连接教育”计划旨在让99%的学生在5年之内使用高速互联网。联邦通信委员会和诸多企业已承诺资助该计划,并提供资金和技术支持。各学区也正在采取积极措施促进教育信息化发展。会议中,各学区负责人签署了对于“连接教育”计划的承诺,致力于帮助学生为未来做好准备。现刊登奥巴马在此次会议中的演讲,以飨读者。
On November 19, 2014, Obama invited heads of more than 100 school districts in the United States to convene a high-level meeting on “Connecting Education” program leaders at the White House. During the meeting, Obama said the federal government’s “Connection Education” program aims to make 99% of students use high-speed Internet within five years. Federal Communications Commission and many companies have pledged to fund the program and provide financial and technical support. Each school district is also taking active measures to promote the development of education information. During the meeting, the school district leaders signed a commitment to the “Connected Education” program, committed to helping students prepare for the future.
