Objective To investigate the expression of insulin-like growth factor IGF-2 in different stages of cervical cancer and its significance. Methods Seventy cases of cervical cancer paraffin specimens from different stages of cervical cancer and 28 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia were collected from Zhucheng MCH and Qingdao Hospital Affiliated Hospital from January 2013 to February 2014. The patients with benign diseases Hysterectomy cervical wax specimens of 20 cases as a control. All cases confirmed by pathological diagnosis. Immunohistochemical SP method was used to detect the expression of IGF-2 in different tissues. Data was processed using the SPSS 13.0 statistical package, with chi-square test for all counts. The difference of statistical significance was P <0.05. Results IGF-2 protein mainly expressed in the cytoplasm. The expression of IGF-2 protein in cervical cancer tissue, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia tissue and normal cervical tissue decreased in the order of 68.57% (48/70), 28.57% (8/28), 10.00% (2/10) (P <0.05). The difference between normal cervical tissue and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia was statistically significant (P <0.05). There was significant difference between normal cervical tissue and cervical cancer and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (P <0.05) . Conclusion The expression of IGF-2 is low or not expressed in normal cervical tissues. The expression of IGF-2 is moderate in different stages of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, and is higher in cervical cancer tissues with different stages. IGF-2 plays an important role in promoting the development of cervical cancer in the development of cervical cancer
