The basic principles and algorithms of molecular dynamics are introduced, and its important role in the research of nanomechanical processing mechanism is expounded. This paper introduces the current situation and methods of studying ultra-precision cutting mechanism by molecular dynamics in foreign countries. It is pointed out that molecular dynamics should be used to study the development trend of nanomechanical mechanism. It is believed that molecular dynamics is a powerful tool to explore the mechanism of nano-machining and it will promote the development of nano-machining technology.
