Hypertension is a serious disease that endangers human health. As the arterial pressure continuously increases, the patient triggers systemic arteriosclerosis, which affects the blood supply to tissues and organs and causes various serious consequences. In recent years, clinical studies have found that there is a significant gender difference in the incidence of hypertension. In men, the risk of developing hypertension is higher than in premenopausal women. After age 65, women have the same risk of developing hypertension as men in the same age group, suggesting that gonadotropins affect cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology.
