This article is part of a study of 17,726 U.S. military wars during the Vietnam War from March 1966 to July 1967. About 30,000 casualties were paid to the U.S. military hospitals in Vietnam during this period, accounting for about 60% of the injuries at that time. Most of the wounded were taken by helicopter directly from the area of the wounded or nearby to a well-equipped military hospital. This avoids multiple transit and treatment halfway. The usual definitive treatments, including debridement, delayed initial suture, laparotomy, thoracotomy, vascular repair, etc., were conducted in Vietnam. The wounded who can not return to the hospital within 30 days should be sent as soon as possible and then sent to the military hospital in Japan or the United States after confirming the operation and the stable condition.
