我们利用表面声波振荡器研制了一种小型的压敏装置,这种装置可埋植于体内,能把信号发送至几百英尺之外。本文介绍该装置及其样机,以及从实验室和受检对象获得的资料。小型、自容(self-contained)压力换能器可应用于许多生物的测量上,如心肺监护、孕妇妊娠期宫缩监护。目前有许多装置可以测出约10毫米水银柱高的压力。然而,所有这些换能器都需用导线与体外装置相连,因而也就限制了活的受检对象的活动。我们研究了表面声波(SAW)延迟线振荡器,发现这种振荡器极其稳定,十分适用于压力调频。因其体积小,可整套装在一起,并由电池供电,因而可埋植于体内。因为装置以射频振荡,而有些部分没有屏蔽,所以压力信号能发射到几百英尺以外的接收器。本文介绍表面声波振荡器的原理,并提供一些从活的受检对象获得的试验结果。
Using surface acoustic wave oscillators, we developed a small pressure-sensitive device that can be embedded in the body and can send signals hundreds of feet away. This article describes the device and its prototypes as well as the information obtained from the laboratory and the subject. Small, self-contained pressure transducers can be used for many biological measurements, such as cardiopulmonary monitoring and contraception during pregnancy. There are many devices that can measure pressures up to about 10 mmHg high. However, all of these transducers need to be wire-bonded to an extracorporeal device, thus limiting the activity of a living subject. We studied surface acoustic wave (SAW) delay line oscillators and found that this oscillator is extremely stable and is well suited for pressure frequency modulation. Because of its small size, can be packaged together, and by the battery-powered, which can be implanted in the body. Because the unit oscillates with RF and some parts are not shielded, pressure signals can be transmitted to receivers hundreds of feet away. This article describes the principle of surface acoustic wave oscillators and provides some experimental results from live subjects.
