感恩节的前一个星期,我班上的学生都迫不及待地要去买节日礼物了。他们都是一些三年级的小学生。他们手中的钱,都是通过他们自己干零活挣来的。他们将要把这份礼物,送给一个孤苦伶仃的老太太。我带着他们去了一家超级市场,看着他们在货架之间挑选礼物。因为在先前我曾说过,应该为那位老太太准备一份丰盛的感恩节晚餐,因而在他们的购物手推车上,这时便堆满了火鸡肉和其他美味的食品。“鲜花!”一个男孩突然叫了起来,一群孩子立刻将节日鲜花柜台团团围住了。“鲜花是不能吃的,”我提醒他们,“如果我们还有多余的钱,为什么不再去买点食品
A week before Thanksgiving, students in my class could not wait to buy a holiday gift. They are all third grade pupils. The money in their hands is earned through their own work. They will give this gift to a lonely old lady. I took them to a supermarket and watched them pick gifts between shelves. Because, as I said earlier, a rich Thanksgiving dinner should be prepared for the old lady, so on their shopping trolley, there are plenty of turkey and other delicious foods. “Flowers!” A boy suddenly cried, a group of children immediately encircled the holiday flowers counter. “Flowers are not edible,” I remind them. "If we have extra money, why stop buying food
