为解决槽、井探等传统地表揭露手段自身局限性问题及减少对环境的破坏,采用浅钻揭露浅部矿体以及地表土层厚度,用于覆盖层地质填图中,控制基岩岩性和地质界线,研究地质构造,查明矿体形态,同时对岩芯(样)进行化学分析采样,构建以钻代槽勘查技术方法理论体系。该方法在云南漕涧锡矿的应用表明:通过合理布孔,能在勘探过程中主动、灵活、准确地对层状、面状地质构造进行控制,从而达到掌握层状、面状地质构造产状目的,同时对形态不规则、复杂多变地质体能够有效的控制其产出形态、空间形态。在特殊地质背景下,浅钻除了代替槽探的作用,同时取代了浅井的部分作用。
