AU-rich elements (AREs) are a type of post-transcriptional regulatory element that exists widely in rapidly reactive genes and plays an important regulatory role in the stability of mRNA and the translation efficiency. MiRNAs are small RNAs of 19-23 bp in length and have been found to play an important post-transcriptional regulatory role in all aspects of life activity. miRNAs mediate the degradation of target mRNAs or the inhibition of translation through the recognition of seed sequences. Harvard Medical Research Institute of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry team in the study of the regulatory role of ARE found miRNAs have the role of activation of translation.
