This article discusses the feasibility and necessity of the strategic reorganization of geological exploration units based on the principle of geographical relevance. The pilots and progress of the reorganization of geological survey units based on the principle of geographical relevance by some provincial bureaus were introduced, and several issues were discussed. It is believed that comprehensive adjustment measures should be used to realize leapfrog development and local economic integration.
