Based on the author’s new book, Architecture and Systems Ecology: Principles of Thermodynamics in Environmental Architecture Design, the article addresses the challenges facing environmental architecture design and uses the evolution from Howard Oldham’s ecosystem ecology Concept, discussing the three interrelated themes of environment, architecture and design.
