同位素源X射线荧光法,类似于一般的X射线荧光分析法。不同的是用一个小型(约一立方厘米)同位素源代替X射线管及其附属的电源和冷却装置;用一对平衡滤光片来代替用以选择荧光幅射的晶体分光系统。换句话说,就是利用放射性同位素源的低能X射线α、β、γ射线作为初级射线来激发试样中待测元素的X射线,然后用平衡滤光片加以分离并测定该特征X射线的强度,从而定出待测元素的含量。
