  Teaching goals

  2 Ability goals
  A Enable the students to use the words and phrases in this unit.
  B Enable the students to summarize the ways to master the future continuous.
  3 Emotional goals
  A Get the students to be interested in learning grammar
  B Help the students learn how to master the ways to talk about and use the future continuous correctly and freely.
  Teaching important and difficult points
  A Get the students to master the usage of the future continuous.
  B Get the students to use some important words in this part.
  Teaching aids: textbook, a computer.
  Teaching procedures and ways:
  Step 1 Leading in
  Show some sentences on the blackboard and ask the students to translate them into English
  T: We have learned some ways to express the future, they include “will/ shall do”, “be going to”, Now, I’d like you to translate the sentences
  This step is to help the students to have a further understanding of the ways to talk about future events and master the future continuous better.
  Step 2 Grammar learning
  In this part students will learn the future continuous.
  A Ask the students to turn to page 6 and do exercise 1.Later tick the true statements.
  T: All the choices show the forms and the usage of the future continuous.Now please read the three sentences together.
  B Ask the students to come to exercise2.
  T: Now, please listen to the tape and complete the sentences.Listen twice and do the exercise.Ask the students to do exercise 3.This exercise is to help the students practice the usage of the future continuous
  At last, help students sum up the form of the future continuous: will be doing.
  Step 3 Grammar practice.
  A T: Please turn to page 67, and let’s do exercise 1 and 3.
  These exercises are to help the students to revise the ways to talk about the future events, then ask some students to read out their answers and check the answers.
  B T: since you have done the exercises very well, let’s continue with exercise 4.Complete the sentences with the verbs in brackets in the most appropriate forms: the future simple, or the future continuous.then I will check your answers.
  Finally, help the students to have a better understanding the differences between the future simple and the future continuous.
  The form of the future simple: will/shall do, be going to do
  The form of the future continuous: will be doing.
  Step 4 Homework
  Ask the students to sum up the ways to talk about the future events and get them to make some sentences with the future continuous and preview the next part.
