Manufacturing in South Korea and Taiwan is moving from labor-intensive to knowledge-intensive technology. Although they now have well-established manufacturing and standardized products, there is still a huge risk of developing higher quality products to adapt to rapidly changing international markets. Generally, Taiwan was more developed than South Korea in the 1960s. If developed according to the order of economic stage, Taiwan will first move into high-tech production in southern Korea, namely, knowledge-based and technology-intensive production. In fact, South Korea has surpassed Taiwan in many economic fields. The electronics industry plays an important role in the development strategy of these two regions. On the whole, South Korea’s electronics industry has come to the front of Taiwan.
