This article is an extension of the 1975 SEG Technical Standards Committee’s recommendations regarding polarities of vibrators / records. The polarities of these systems will involve P (longitudinal) vibrators that are phase-locked with earth-surface-force (weighted sum) or reaction-weight (hereinafter referred to as hammer) signals and will also relate to the horizontal (horizontal) Wave-controlled vibrator. At the time of the first report, the two types of vibrators mentioned above were not yet widely used. This article provides an overview of the main points of the previous article, as well as some conventions that affect the operation of the vibrator. For these polarity conventions, we have provided a recommended extension definition that describes a simple process of how to make new and complete polarity conventions for P-wave and S-wave Vibrator / recording systems. We think any recommended convention is only a simple limitation. This limit can be used for a variety of training and practical operation of the system between. For these reasons, we want to be able to determine the differences between systems and the process of polarity conventions can serve as the basis for comparing such differences.
