一、引言书信体小说最早起源于西班牙,时间是在15世纪。英国作家塞缪尔·理查逊于18世纪50年代向英国文学领域推出了书信体小说,他的书信体小说对当时的英国产生了较深的影响,《帕梅拉》《克拉丽莎》《格兰狄森》都是塞缪尔·理查逊的书信体小说代表作,当时英国社会反响很大。书信体小说属于一种特殊的文学体裁,其本身具有特殊的文学特征,具有对话性、私密性以及即时性等鲜明的特征。18世纪的英国书信体小说立足于当时英国社会的方方面面,涉及政治、经济、历史文化等各个领域,对促进18世纪英国的社会发展产生了积极的影响。18世纪是英国书信体小说的繁荣发展阶段,自此以后,英国的书信体小说逐步走向沉寂,但是在现代社会我们仍然可以继续找寻到书信体小说的影子。
