王朝闻先生曾在论及潘天寿先生的绘画思想时,将潘天寿的画论大致分为三个具有相互关联的部分,即论述人品和画品的关系、心源和造化的关系、创造与继承的关系。我同意这样的分类,当然还应该加上绘画理论与创作实践的关系,这样会更加完整。王朝闻先生着重理论研究,我本身更注重绘画实践,自然也就更关注在理论与绘画的关系及其相互作用方面的诸多问题。
