Comrade Pan Gang’s “Knowledge of Chinese Herbal Medicine Commodity” (published by Jiangsu Science and Technology Press, first edition in June 1982) has met with the majority of Chinese medicine workers. The book is divided into two parts: the general theory and the individual theory. The general introduction introduces the origin and brief history of traditional Chinese medicine, naming, collection, processing, identification, processing, storage, performance and application of traditional Chinese medicine, formula knowledge, boiling decoction, and unit conversion. Each theory has collected 665 commonly used traditional Chinese medicines (more than 800 varieties involved), systematically and comprehensively introduced the source, alias, origin, harvest, identification, processing, and gun of each medicine.
