The total investment for highway construction in Xinjiang prior to the Eighth Five-Year Plan was 5 billion yuan, and the total investment in highway construction since the Ninth Five-Year Plan was 48 billion yuan. The 10-year investment in the first 40 years of the Eighth Five-Year Plan was 9.6% Times From 2002 to 2005, Xinjiang has the largest investment in road construction and the largest number of construction projects in four years and four years in a row. The investment in highway construction in the whole region increased from 2.3 billion yuan in 2001 to 5.2 billion yuan to 8.0 billion yuan 11 billion yuan in 2004 and 10 billion yuan in 2005. By the end of 2004, the autonomous region’s road construction mileage has reached 86,824 kilometers (including the 24,493 kilometers of corps), 16,356 kilometers of national trunk lines and secondary and above national trunk roads
