创造力是指人们在生产和生活中产生新的想法,发现和制造新的事物的能力,它的特征是新颖性和独创性,主要成分是发散思维,即无定向、无约束地探索未知的思维方式。《义务教育音乐课程标准(2011年版)》更加指出:“创造是发挥学生想象力和思维潜能的音乐学习领域,是学生进行音乐创作实践和发掘创造性思维能力的过程和手段,对培养创新人才具有十分重要的意义。”音乐教育的功能是培养人的创造性思维,提高学生的音乐素质,开发学生的创造性思维,这是时代的呼唤、是教育的升华,也是应试教育渗透素质教育的有效途径。就如何唤起学生的创造欲望,激起学生的创作激情,培养学生的音乐创作能力等方面进行了归纳和总结,和同行们进行了探讨。
