荧光显示管(VFD)自60年代末由日本首先研究出来以后,已从单位管经过圆形多位管发展到现在使用玻璃基板的平板型多位管。平板型荧光显示管在抗振和抗冲击性能方面有明显的改善,发光强度和分辨率等性能也有所提高,另外还可作成任何显示图形,且具有高可靠性等优点。在记时、音响设备、家用电器、电子计算机终端显示、汽车和磁带录象机等领域中得到广泛的应用。荧光显示管已从单色显示发展到多色显示。现已研究出能发各种颜色光的低压荧光粉,可显示蓝色、深绿色、绿色、柠檬色、黄色、橙色和赤橙色等,并能进一步得到良好的显示效果。可以说荧光显示
