芍藥的成分,据朝比奈泰彥氏(1907)報告,主含安息香酸,其他物质並未提出。近年三澤氏(1955)由芍藥的根中抽出一种呈配糖体反应的物質,为淡黃色、無晶形、具吸濕性罱嘤鹬卫傻仁?1956)就此新成分進行了藥理实驗。毒性少:白鼠皮下注射20毫克/10克,則运動不活潑,步行失調:100毫克/10克呈現麻痹狀态而死亡。靜脈注射10毫/10克,現暫時性痙攣;20毫克/10克則死亡。白鼠腹腔內注射其半數致死量(LD50)=57.5毫克/10克。对蛙体心臟的作用:1.2—2.5毫克/10克現輕度的心机抑制,立卽恢復;蛙离体心臟作用,10~(-3)液几無作用。
