With advances in science and technology, remarkable achievements have been made in modern medicine. However, there is a huge difference between the real-world daily medical behaviors and the ideal state we expect. In 2003, the report of the National Institute of Education (IOM) showed that “improving the quality of health care” has become an area that requires the active actions of countries and governments. Diabetes has now become one of the major diseases that threaten the health of Chinese people. The prevalence of T2DM in our country has reached as high as 9.7% and the number of patients living in the world ranks first in the world. Numerous studies have shown that some “medical measures” can effectively reduce the incidence of diabetic complications, thereby reducing the morbidity and mortality of patients and improving their quality of life. Therefore, these “medical measures ” has been widely recommended by domestic and international diabetes academic guidelines. These “medical measures ” is called diabetes “standardized treatment measures ”. The fact-finding survey shows that the implementation rate of standardized diagnosis and treatment of T2DM in our country is not optimistic. Therefore, the application of improving science to improve the quality of diabetes management and control in our country is imminent. In the near future, improving science will be an indispensable discipline for providing high-quality health services to patients and will continue to promote the improvement and development of the quality of health care. The promotion of standardized diagnosis and treatment of diabetes by improving scientific research and practice, which is widely implemented in real-world medical practice, will gradually reduce the heavy burden on our individuals, families and society caused by diabetic complications in our country.
