I. Introduction The Beijing Plain is located at the northwestern corner of the North China Plain and is located at the junction of the southern margin of Yanshan and the northeast margin of Taihang Mountain. The Chaobai River originating from the Yanshan Mountains and the Yongding River from the Taihang Mountains constitute the two major river systems in the Beijing Plain. The Beijing Plain belongs to the alluvial plain in front of the piedmont. Its overall topography is low in the southeast of Northwest China. Its elevation is 50 ~ 10m and its slope is 5 ‰. Beijing is located in the rear margin of the alluvial plain in Beijing. The tectonic activity in the Beijing Plain is constructed as a concealed active structure, which makes it more difficult to study the seismic structure in the area. This article will show the main findings from surveys on major active faults in this area in recent years and discuss the danger of future strong earthquakes in the area.
