Religion, as an important political right, is safeguarded both in international law and in domestic law. The major international human rights conventions, as well as most countries, emphasize the freedom of religious belief in the protection of citizens in the Constitution and other sectoral laws. Citizens have the freedom to believe or not to believe in religion. This freedom provided for by law includes not only the freedom of religious belief of citizens, but also the obligation of citizens to comply with the law. Therefore, religious freedom is relative. Citizens, while enjoying religious freedom, must also abide by the laws of the country.
