Mexico used to be a typical one-party-led political party system, and the revolutionary party created a miracle of more than 70 years of continuous governance. Beginning with the loss of the party in power in 2000 as the ruling party, Mexico has entered a new political transition. It is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the related issues of Mexico’s political transition and summarize the historical experiences and lessons. This article focuses on the regional conflicts and conflicts within the national parties and explores the role of formal and informal institutions in shaping federal politics, thus examining the recent political transformation in Mexico. The author believes that there is no regional split within a political party during the period of one-party dominance. However, with the transformation of party system,
