应用两种新的线路共享技术,小型办公室和家庭办公室可望在现有的电话线上综合传送话音和数据。这两种新的线路共享技术是:数字话音加数据(DSVD)和非对称数字用户线(ADSL)。 DSVD和ADSL都通过未加屏蔽的双绞电缆对每个家庭和办公室传送信号,因此可以解决使用ISDN受限制的问题。例如,许多用户已经发现,为了利用ISDN业务,他们必须安装新的用户环路。在许多情况下,用户实际上不得不要挖一条从路边到家庭的电缆沟才能安装ISDN线路。然而,只要采用上述两种新的线路共享技术,就可以利用现有的电话线实现这两种新的业务(见表1)。
With two new line sharing technologies, small offices and home offices are expected to deliver voice and data over existing phone lines. The two new line sharing technologies are: Digital Voice Plus Data (DSVD) and Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL). Both DSVD and ADSL transmit signals to each home and office over unshielded twisted-pair cabling, thereby solving the problem of ISDN-constrained use. For example, many users have found that they must install new user loops in order to take advantage of ISDN services. In many cases, users actually have to dig a cable channel from the curb to the home to install the ISDN line. However, using the two new line sharing technologies described above, these two new services can be implemented using existing telephone lines (see Table 1).
