Blank is a kind of artistic expression. “Blank” is also called “empty frame of art.” The author intends to set some gaps in his works so that the readers can fill in the works when they accept the works. Readers’ participation in the vast world of artistic creation can receive unique artistic effects. With the rise of reception aesthetics, people begin to realize that the artistic value of a work is, in a sense, often determined by what the recipient understands and gives. As Gerling Greene states in The Introduction to Aesthetics: “The work is full of graphic structure and dark blank, the chart is to be thoroughly read by the reader and the blank is to be filled in by the reader.”
